Quality design should always be supported but it is understood to be difficult to create policy for subjective considerations. With regards to Heritage property and sites, the protection of these should be maintained but consideration must also be given to the substantial costs of their maintenance. Sustainable and sensitive development should be supported where it allows for Heritage assets to be better maintained and preserved.

Heritage is EXTREMELY important in this region. Not just on a local level, but to the UK as a whole as well as how the UK is perceived internationally. E.g. Stratford-upon-Avon is considered of high importance to many tourists who visit the UK and therefore it should be protected

Heritage Conservation Areas. There is no assurance in the Plan as to how heritage conservation areas, such as the one in Henley-In-Arden, will be respected and enhanced. Even if there is no building planned in this area, greater housing density across Henley is likely to have a profound negative impact on this specific area.

Need to encourage sympathetic development, not stifle innovation. Also need to disincentivise demolition where refurbishment would be the better solution.

Again I agree in principle with the policy but in areas such as Kenilworth high street it is neither beautiful or well designed. The failed talisman is a case in point with a prime space being turned into a pointless car park. The aesthetic of what should be a thriving historic town centre is of a 60/70s tired street.

We must maintain the unique heritage sites of South Warwickshire - we are a globally attractive tourist destination and need to stay this way
