Given the increased housing in the local plan and congestion that already occurs on local roads at peak times a railway station at Kenilworth could help relieve congestion and be more sustainable than using the car.

The majority of KS members object to the proposal to put a cycle path through the historic Abbey Fields. This is a park created from the dissolution of the Augustinian Abbey and is used by the elderly, families, the young, and is a major asset to the town of Kenilworth. This is a park for pedestrians to enjoy and a place of serenity and peace in an ever increasing frantic high speed world. These historic grounds are an area of extreme archaelogical significance and need to be preserved as such for the future of our Town

The Options documents seem to seek to hide the real nature of road proposals between Blackdown and the A46 and do not address the need for a new Highway in the Green Belt and across a river valley
I object to the way this plan has not been presented with the same promnence as the land allocation plan, as if the two were unrelated. I object to its inclusion in an Appendix only. I object to the use of fuzzy blobs keyed as 'highways improvements' to cover a new highway proposal which is already known to be controversial.
And I object to the argument which says you need to build a link between the A46 and Blackdown to serve the new development areas when the areas are not themselves justifiable or inevitable. If the road is needed for other reasons, demonstrate them. I object to building a new highway in the Green Belt, across a river valley without very very good reason

Support the proposed park and ride (P&R) in the broad location of Blackdown. The Blackdown area is an appropriate location for this. The P&R is in the Coventry north-south corridor and would conribute towards sustainable transport. The proposed park and ride would help alleviate some of the congestion problems.
the P&R is in accordance with NPPF transport policies. It would improve choice of travel options and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It would help ensure the long term viability of development at Blackdown

Object to proposals for a cycle route across Abbey Fields for the following reasons:
-ByLaws currently prevent cycling to minimise confilct with pedestrians and ejoyment of the park by families and children
-it would be impossible to police if only some routes were restricted for cyclists
-the entrance and approach to the swimming pool is very heavily used by pedestrians, and cyclists would represent a danger in the these locations
-there are two blind corners at the end of the pool and the bird feeding area is nature reserve
-the footbridge is not wide enough
-The Ancient Monument would be affected
-there is no evidence of need from cyclists
-annual events take place in the park which are not compatible ith cycling
-Abbey Fields is a protected treasure of the town and should not be threatened
-there are alternative routes for cyclists
