Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The green belt boundaries were established to preserve the character and rural nature of the protected areas FOR A VERY GOOD REASON. This reason remains in our village and any changes will threaten the uniqueness of the place we have chosen to live in.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I think in principle Burton Green could absorb a limited amount of new housing within the paramaters identified (30 - 80 units) with the following provisos:

1 That the principle of ribbon development is not broken (i.e. no cul de sacs or estates). There are parcels of land particularly along Red Lane that could be developed by infilling without detriment to the semi rural feel of the the area
2 There must be scope for replacement of some houses on large (wide) plots with smaller affordable or retirement units without breaking principle 1 above

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Severly criticises plans to undertake house building in Burton Green. There is no employment to support existing householders in the area never mind additional people. New houses would not match the current houses of older design. Flora and fauna of the area would be adversely affected. There will be a large increase in vehicles , the proposed access routes to the site are already overcrowded and would increase the danger to pedestrians. Infrastructure cannot support the existing population.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The green belt between Westwood Ward and Kenilworth should remain. The nearest preferred site to Burton Green is Thickthorn. Cromwell Lane, Bockendon Avenue / Crackley Lane are already busy and dangerous.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Supports the allocation of the village as a category 2 village and acknowledges that because of HS2 the number of houses likely to be developed will be on the higher end of 30-80. Would like to see the inclusion of a replacement village hall within any proposals (allowing for the potential loss of the current village hall through HS2). Suggests that proposals should not be brought forward or confirmed until after the final design and mitigation for HS2 through the village is confirmed.

I support the proposed designation of Burton Green as a 'Category 2' village, provided that the Parish Council is fully consulted and involved in decisions about target numbers, types and locations of new housing.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Burton Green is to be decimated by HS2, therefore it is an unsuitable location for the addition of 80 new homes.
There are a lot of new homes being built in the area within a mile of the village, the infrastructure will not be able to cope with the intended growth and the effects of HS2 are being ignored.
The Local Plan intendes to allocate a considerable amount of growth in the villages that will spoil their nature and require masive infrastructure expenditure to support it. Urban brown field sites should be usesd before villages are expanded.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The village is not an attractive place to build as HS2 is going to destroy the village.
There have already been many homes built close to the village and more are planned. In addition Warwick University and Westwood Business Park have been expanded. This has been done without improvements to infrastructure and has lead to congestion on the road network.
The impact of HS2 on the village is not understood and the Local Plan proposals will add to this.
