Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Environmental issues are of concern with development in the proposed option. It will completely spoil the landscape of the area and extra traffic will need to come into the village.
This is green belt land and we should not be eroding and seeking to spoil the countryside in this way. The need for housing is accepted but a more suitable site should be found which would not impact so severely on the landscape.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Comments made in July 2013 concerning the housing estimate of 12,300 have been ignored. An independent assessment, supported by our local MP, of 5,400 obviates the need to find room in the nominated villages. The 'housing estimate' needs re-assessment.
An additional 100-150 dwellings would have an adverse effect on existing amenities. The increase of some 300 residents (greater than the population of Hampton-on-the-Hill) would adversely affect the quality of life in the village .
The only route for all the heavy construction vehicles is through Hampton on the Hill. A new access road is needed to deal with this issue.

Testun llawn:

I OBJECT to the issues raised in the above document and in particular the section dealing with Hampton Magna on pages 44 and 45.
My OBJECTION is based on:-
1. The Plan seems not to have taken into account the comments made in July 2013 concerning the housing estimate of 12,300 which had increased from 10,800. An independent assessment, supported by our local MP, Mr. Chris White, of the likely requirement being 5,400 has been ignored. We argue that a lesser number than 12,800 obviates the need to find room in the nominated villages.
Therefore the 'housing estimate' needs re-assessment.
2. If Hampton Magna were to still be in the Plan, consideration must be given to the impact an additional 100-150 dwellings would have on existing amenities. The increase of some 300 residents (greater than the population of Hampton-on-the-Hill) would mean that the amenities would be unable to cope and the quality of life in the village will be adversely affected.
Budbrooke School is already at capacity; the single road that runs through the villages is already used as a 'rat run' for traffic to Warwick Parkway station and the M40 motorway which the Plan seems to have acknowledged - see Page 44 - 'Key Housing Issues' - ......" The impact of development on traffic and existing infrastructure (sewage/drainage) will need to be carefully considered".
I suggest that these issues must be dealt with before any dwellings are added.
3. Access to Hampton Magna is by three main routes; Old Budbrooke Road (Warwick Parkway Station); Ugly Bridge Road and through Hampton-on-the-Hill. The construction traffic to build the proposed 100-150 new dwellings will be unable to use Ugly Bridge which is unsuitable for heavy traffic, nor via Old Budbrooke Road where at Warwick Parkway Station the bridge has just 12 Ft. 6 inch headroom (too low for heavy vehicles) which leaves only the route through Hampton-on-the-Hill for all the heavy construction vehicles.
Consideration should be given to creating a separate new access road to deal with this issue and the associated costs incorporated in any assessment.
Please give these points your very careful consideration.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

No development should be allowed on green belt land, especially to the east and south of Hampton Magna as it would erode the limited countryside between the village and Warwick. The green belt is specifically designed to protect the green space between villages and towns.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Option 6 should be the preferred option and not option 1.

Testun llawn:

Option 1 should not be the preferred option for the following reasons: the increased traffic in Arras Boulevard would lead to increased risk to pedestrians, especially children, making trips to the school, playing field, shops, hall and doctors; the houses built there cannot fail to negatively impact the southerly views from Arras Boulevard which are the most distant views available to residents in this part of Hampton Magna; the site is not as good as option 6.

Option 6 should be the preferred option because: traffic from the site can have its own access on to Old Budbrooke Road (I suggest a small roundabout where Damson Road meets the Old Budbrooke Road) which can be sized to meet the need; traffic to and from this site will not affect existing traffic and pedestrians in the village; residents of option 6 would have a much better experience than those of option 1 (they would have pleasant views from an elevated site and significantly less noise from A46); there would be no need for extra work to mitigate the effects of proximity of the A46 which would be necessary in the case of option 1; there would be less disturbance to existing villagers during the construction phase of option 6; there is room for easier further expansion should it be necessary.
