We agree that housing needs within the village have been met and, indeed, exceeded. The village is now very large and compact, therefore a crowded built environment. Any further development would strain the villages restricted resources and reduce the quality of life in many ways, as outlined in the document.

Good quality social housing should be provided for villagers. Potentially also sheltered accommodation.

Any future housing development considerations for a village that is already saturated and lacking in infrastructure is totally ridiculous. I moved into the village over 20 years ago and have seen its gradual demise and I do not want to live in a small town lookalike. There are plenty of brown site development opportunities in Leamington Spa.

I agree with the policy with some reservations as I am not sure what some of the wording implies. In the interests of being carbon neutral I would suggest greening of the village itself with incentives or encouragements for the villagers to re-green the area by planting and replacing the trees and shrubs that are slowly being cut down and removed.

Sufficient new housing has now been added to Radford. Further building would remove the village characteristics and cannot be sustained with current infrastructure and amenities

Radford semele has accomodated 300+ houses in the current Plan period. This vastly exceeds the numbers allocated to the village by a factor of 3 and exceeds the the Housing Survey which stated the village needed 6. The accomodation of these high numbers should exclude Radford Semele as a growth village for forseable future.
Support mixed sustainable housing in keeping with local area.
I support this Policy in line with Local Plan Policy. Radford Semele has recently accomodated housing numbers far in excess that allocated in the current Local Planfor the village (>X3). The housing needs survey stated that Radford needed 7 houses of mixed types. The local Plan allocated 100 with 40% afordable housing. The village has in fact been allocated 300+. This excess development should exclude Radford Semele as a growth village for the forseable future.
It is important that housing should be in keeping with its surrounding and built to nationally approved specifications, whilst accomodating all sectors of the population which needs housing. I would support housing designed for disabled people and of a sustainable nature utilising energy sources from sustainable sources such as solar, hydrogen etc.

Ymatebydd: Severn Trent Water
Severn Trent is supportive of Policy RS1, in particular the inclusion of the comment that new housing must meet WDC Climate Emergency Commitment which should encourage water efficiency and use of SuDS. We would recommend that specific mention relating to water efficiency is made here through the incorporation of a policy for new developments to be built to the water efficiency standard of 110 litres per person per day.
