Policies to support, encourage and enable the establishment of Parks, Play Areas and MUGA pitches in areas which have already had extensive housing development but without the necessary balancing provision. This could be through a Neighbourhood Plan.

Where developers are required to build play areas strict guidelines should be provided in terms of area and quality of equipment. Some of the current developments in Kenilworth (notably at Kenilworth Corner / Crackley Triangle) are seriously sub-standard.

I don't think this goes far enough.
From what I have seen of new developments the play spaces are very limited.
We need to install significant play spaces with good quality and well thought out equipment.
Sand Pits
Also open space for playing ball games, frizby etc.

I disagree with the option of requesting off-site sums if a MUGA cannot be provided on site. The scale of the new settlements proposed means that the provision of such areas will be possible in all cases. It makes no sense to have areas developed off-site.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The policy highlights the importance of integrating accessible, high-quality urban parks and play areas into new developments. These play an important role in promoting community well-being, social interaction, and environmental sustainability. By mandating the provision of these spaces, the policy ensures that residents have opportunities for recreation and leisure within their localities. To further enhance the policy's effectiveness, it is recommended to explicitly acknowledge the multifunctional benefits of green infrastructure and open spaces, including their contributions to health, biodiversity, and landscape integration. This holistic approach aligns with sustainable development principles and fosters vibrant, resilient communities.

Really important that these should be onsite. The concept of MUGAs really important

The types of paths used should be fit for purpose and not loose gravel which washes away. Otherwise the urban parks and play areas are inaccessible.

See Warwick Gates paths which were recently replaced. Mallory Grange paths which are washing away and inaccessible for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Oakley Meadow paths which are washing away and inaccessible for pushchairs/wheelchairs.
