Strongly object to development located here, prone to flooding from Gog Brook, also subject to high levels of pollution and noise form the A46, situated next to St Mary's Lands which is a public green space where efforts are being made to protect wildlife and enhance the space for everyone. Serious infrastructure concerns where cars are feeding onto an doff the A46.

Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy Direction-13-Core Opportunity Area?

Based around the M40, so motorway network, and therefore increasing car travel to a much greater extent than if it focused on locations near public transport. Also excludes those without car access from employment opportunities. Co locating businesses means there’s less housing nearby and further increases car dependency. Core opportunity area should be close to towns and public transport and not include the large rural areas.

Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy Direction-20- Supporting our changing town centres?

Added pressure on traffic plan for Warwick town centre when residents need to travel from one side of town to the other and whenever there are frequent delays on the A46.
Town centre air quality affected negatively, will worsen as a consequence.
Support a Primary Shopping Area for Warwick as it will boost the local economy and help create an attractive low-traffic, safe, friendly environment, linking the town centre with Smith Street shops.
Out-of-town Park & Ride would be ideal to bring visitors from further afield, yet also stopping locally as an effective alternative to the car for local residents.

Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy Direction-21- Arts and Culture?
ID sylw: 90624
Derbyniwyd: 24/02/2025
Ymatebydd: Warwick Town Council
The current proposals for arts and culture in the SWLP are unambitious. Artistic expression and cultural identity are the product of, and help define, communities. If we want happy and healthy communities then we must allow for arts and culture to be included in shaping sections of the local plan such as planning, tourism, employment and investment.

Do you agree with the approach laid out in Draft Policy- K- Multifunctional Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)?
ID sylw: 90627
Derbyniwyd: 24/02/2025
Ymatebydd: Warwick Town Council
The SWLP must ensure that new developments are located in areas with the lowest risk of flooding, reducing long-term vulnerability and costs. Encourage the use of multi-functional SuDS that provide biodiversity, water quality, and amenity benefits since it will prevent reliance on traditional underground drainage systems that can contribute to flooding.
Also like to see actions towards preventing flooding in existing developments.
