Do you agree with the Preferred Growth Strategy for Warwick District to 2026?

ID sylw: 33655

Derbyniwyd: 25/09/2009

Ymatebydd: Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd

Asiant : Barton Willmore

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Support directing most of the growth to Leamington/Warwick with some growth in the rural areas.

Object to the inherent imbalance of focussing development to the south. In addition to the land to the south, there is a need to allocate land to the north to ensure a balanced approach to housing delivery. By not providing employment land to the north, you are simply encouraging continued journeys through the town centre to the existing employment areas.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

We can support and deliver a proportion of employment land on the land to the north of Milverton to meet a locally identified need. Accept that land to the south is more suitable to accommodate employment development, but should the housing numbers increase then there will be a need for additional employment land.

Do you support or object to levels of housing growth higher than those proposed by the Preferred Options?

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Flexibility should be built into the document at this stage to accommodate an increase in housing numbers or potential non-delivery of sites.

There is an identified need for an additional 5,000 dwellings and as a result there is a need to allocate additional land north of Milverton for 1,800 dwellings plus employment.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Do not consider this site will be delivered before 2016 due to little developer interest and the number of constraints to this brownfield site.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Thre is an over reliance on windfalls. There are only a limited number of brownfield sites suitable for development within the town centres. Reliance on past trends is unrealistic given the market we are now in.

Windfall assumptions should be halved in order to ensure there is more confidence in meeting housing targets. Additional land should be allocated to make up the difference, at land north of Milverton. The loss of Green Belt is outweighed by the need for housing.

Do you support or object to the preferred option for securing a mix of new housing?

ID sylw: 33668

Derbyniwyd: 25/09/2009

Ymatebydd: Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Do not wish to see a prescriptive housing mix included for strategic sites to apply for the whole plan period. Any mix has to take account of housing need and local market demand.
