Do you agree that the Council has identified all reasonable options for the location of new housing?

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Site chosen by WDC will create over provision of housing which is concentrated in south of District particularly around Whitnash.
Council recognises WDC has to provide 10,800 houses, in line with government policy. Would be more even handed to distribute sites for new houses in number of locations, including sites both north and east of district, especially as Whitnash has had three significant developments over past few years. Spread of sites will help reduce traffic and decrease additional load on infrastructure in south of District. Adopting this approach will reduce impact on environment, save agricultural land and minimise use of green field sites. This development will harm and have an adverse impact on environment.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

In the current economic climate, many families will find it difficult to obtain local jobs, as there is no significant industry in this area. If people work further afield this will also have an impact on the environment as well as on the already stressed infrastructure of the roads and motorways.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

lack of impact studies on schooling, traffic movement, drainage of water and sewerage. These impact studies should have been carried out before the 'Preferred Options' was published! Lack of such studies does not allow the public to make an informed choice.
Nothing has changed at Woodside Farm with regard to viable agricultural land, poor access, steep elevation and the underground power lines are still there!!

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Approval has recently been given for a new railway station in Kenilworth this will certainly alleviate some of the traffic on the roads in this area of the District. Surely it would be more prudent to locate more housing sites in the area north and east of the district as there is easy access to this new railway station, Coventry and A46 and M6 motorway. The use of brown field sites and smaller developments of 20-30 houses distributed widely within rural areas would be preferable.

(v) Land at Woodside Farm, north of Harbury Lane, Whitnash

ID sylw: 33950

Derbyniwyd: 01/09/2009

Ymatebydd: Whitnash Town Council

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Land was deemed unsuitable by an Inspector two years ago - land at Woodside Farm and the land between Whitnash and Radford Semele was retained as an area of restraint following an enquiry that cost thousands of pounds. Nothing has changed at Woodside Farm with regard to viable agricultural land, poor access, steep elevation and the underground power lines are still there!! Even if the Inspector's findings are officially relevant until 2011 since the criteria is current the findings should not be blatently disregarded. Why are areas of restraint included in Phase 1 of the Core Strategy 'Preferred Options' when they weren't in the previous proposal?
