Shows inadequate analysis of what gives rise to community disruption and bad behaviour in society. As respondents said, promoting community spirit, must be high on list if we wish to create a society where justice and crime prevention prevail.
Significant work needs to be done in deepening understanding of how and why certain members of community turn to crime. Growing evidence that "community psyche" is at work, long before individuals themselves recognise why they are behaving in a certain manner. Better research will be key to adopting a more efficient Community Safety strategy.

Throughout our responses to the Core Strategy, the Green Party insists that development be restricted to brownfield sites within our town boundaries before any option to build on Green Belt or Green Field sites is considered. In Leamington alone we have a major development sites in Court Street / Althorpe Street and the Gateway site from the old Ford foundry to the Station.

While we may agree with the Growth Strategy as stated, we are not convinced that this is being adhered to: we see threats to the Green Belt in the proposed Housing Strategy and to the White Belt to the South and East of Leamington. Likewise we see a continuing desire to allow development to the North of Leamington instead of the South, as stated as being desirable in this Growth Strategy statement

Provision of affordable housing must be the main thrust of housing development. Desire for people to live in larger homes and have second or even third houses means that only the price of houses can reduce this 'demand'. Rejects notion that there is massive requirement for new housing. Demand for housing is dependent on the state of the economy and immigration which has significantly reduced.
It is disappointing that central government is seeking to allow 'demand' to dictate supply which obliges our District to provide significant increases in housing.

Much of our housing stock is used very inefficiently. Warwick District is rightly perceived as a desirable place to live due to the small towns, accessible green space and good quality housing stock. It is therefore not sensible to encourage a significant shift in population into the District from 'less desirable' areas. Challenge is how to increase demand in Coventry. Nuneaton by investment and regeneration; and how to maximise use of the existing Warwick District housing stock and land. More use should be made of effective tax measures to encourage occupancy of unused and underutilised properties.

In the previous consultation the Council indicated that there were brownfield sites for 8,100 homes. "From the Council's own figures, if a housing density of just 40 is assumed, then there is no need for any houses to be built on green fields." Housing densities of over 100 homes per hectare can be appropriate in town centres. Disappointed to see it is only increased it to 40. Even more disappointed the core strategy now claims that 5000 homes should be built on greenfield sites, double the number given a year ago. Advocate increases in housing density within towns.

Delighted to see long term vision of comprehensive public transport strategy. Putting pedestrian and cycle journeys at the top of the agenda is crucial to lowering the district's carbon emissions and boosting our health and fitness. Is a danger that the lack of concrete targets means that vision may actually be a mirage. Advocates that all new roads should be matched, kilometre by kilometre by dedicated cycle ways.
Pedestrians neglected members of community in terms of adequate provision yet are the largest numerically.

Need to wait and see what the Government means by proposed Community Infrastructure Levy. Supports policy of Land Value Taxation where true value of development land reflects infrastructure provided by the surround community. If this is the Government's intention, then would support its adoption by District Council.
Continuing to "gather evidence on the infrastructure required to support growth" is not an appropriate paradigm to be working with.

The natural environment is that which supports us : any incursion into this will lead yet further and faster to the downfall of the biosphere and humankind with it.
Greenfield sites are those which provide our food and therefore our food security. Losing yet more green fields to building is courting disaster and cannot, must not, be allowed.

Regeneration strategy right to focus on Lillington, Brunswick and Kingsway in Leamington, Packmores and The Cape in Warwick.
Significant experience of successful regeneration work undertaken in Leamington Old Town; should build on findings; regeneration must include social, environmental and physical aspects as well as economic. Disappointing that the CS focuses development in north Leamington. Would be better for town centre development to concentrate on areas in need of regeneration such as the Court Street / Althorpe Street site and the Leamington Station / Ford Foundry site. Such developments should be mixed use.
