It is not clear if this the correct place to submit an objection to the proposed SG06 and SG05 development areas? I object to the potential loss of open space and the erosion of distinctive boundaries between north Leamington, the open countryside and nearby villages. The road infrastructure is insufficient to manage increased traffic volume and the loss of open space and accessible public footpaths would be a significant loss to the well being of existing residents.

I disagree with housing at SG05 and SG06. As essential areas of greenbelt serving the community and wildlife of North Leamington. Public access is used extensively by runners,cyclists, foragers,walkers and wildlife enthusiasts, essential to the mental and physical well-being of residents . In SG05 the wildlife is exceptional ie an ancient woodland plus ancient species along hedges and in the woods ie bluebells, wood anenomes, stitchwort,dogs mercury.Birds use the mosaic of woodland,hedges , wetland and field margins. Buzzards, 3 speicies of woodpecker, Redkites, skylarks are found. Badgers have setts within SG05. People forage crab apples, sloes , blackberries, plums ,mushrooms.

This development will likely require treatment at Warwick - Longbridge (STW) Treatment Works, this Wastewater Treatment Works has medium capacity and high environmental constraints. Due to the size of the development, it is recommended that network upgrades will be required, alongside hydraulic modelling and engagement with STW. Overall this development site is considered a medium/high risk location, there is some capacity however in order to accommodate growth, infrastructure upgrades will be required and we would need to work closely to understand build timelines, in order to plan accordingly.

As a local resident, I strongly oppose SG05’s inclusion in the Local Plan. This development would destroy greenbelt land, harming biodiversity and depriving residents of vital outdoor space used for walking, exercise, and community activities. HS2 has already disrupted Cubbington- enough is enough. Infrastructure, including roads, schools, and healthcare, is overstretched, and further growth will worsen congestion and strain services. Offchurch Road and Windmill Hill are already too fast and unsafe for heavy traffic. Cubbington has a distinct village identity, which this development threatens to erase. The council must reconsider SG05 and protect our already pressured community.

The proposed site increase the flood risk to existing properties in Cubbington and Offchurch by the loss of open space. School provision is already extremely limited and therefore more properties would exacerbate the issue. The proposed site used by wildlife and local people for recreation (walking and running). SG05 makes a strong contributions to Green Belt. If removed, Cubbington will lose its identity and become a Leamington suburb.
Good agricultural land with wildlife, including badgers. Public rights of way providing amenity (mental) health for residents of Lillington, a deprived area. Surface water flooding is a concern.
Any access road would put pressure on busy local roads. There are NO big food stores in the area. Traffic would increase through Leamington town centre as employment and supermarkets are to the south.
Additional school places, increased capacity at the medical practice and a community venue will need to be provided.

The N section is a steep hill. This is proper greenbelt - separating Cubbington from Lillington. It is completely wrong to argue that Cubbington is part of Leamington (or Lillington). The land is marshy at the bottom as it soaks up rainfall. There is an SSSI which would be destroyed by development. The S part was rejected by the Government Inspector. Buckley Rd/Black Lane is the ridge boundary of this treasured accessible landscape with red list wildllife, which runs into the Leam Valley. Development would ruin the setting of Newbold Comyn with lighting, noise and houses.

The area has already had a new housing estate. No extra shops have been provided. There is only North Leamington School that serves the area. It is heavily over subscribed and recent school applications from Cubbington area have been refused leaving children to travel to a school further away. The village is already too busy with traffic, adding more houses will make this area much busier and not as safe for children.

Cubbington Village will lose its unique identity and will just be another suburb of Leamington if this land is built on, filling the gap between Lillington and Cubbington. It is good agricultural land as can be seen by the crops that grow on it. The footpaths that cross it provide welcome relief into the countryside, particularly for residents of Lillington. When you walk the path between Cubbington and Newbold Comyn, it's currently easy to believe you are not near a town. They will no longer be worth walking along. It is Green Belt land and should not be built on.
