I strongly object to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan because the scale and impact of these proposals would cause lasting harm to our village and its surroundings.

Proposals would significantly damage the character and beauty of our landscape.

Flood risk is another major concern. The area is already vulnerable.

Lack of rail connectivity means residents would be forced to rely on cars, worsening traffic congestion and pollution - already an issue.

Losing our best and most versatile farmland is unacceptable.

Scale of development threatens Wellesbourne’s village status.

No clear plan to provide additional schools or healthcare services already stretched.

Much of this land is already ear marked for the development on the University site. Wellesbourne has taken significant development during the last Core Strategy and should be protected. If development is required it should be north of the river Dene and provide active travel facilities to village facilities and the school. Bridge Street is not suitable for pedestrian access to the main village. For the same reason housing development east of the A429 is not suitable. I shall make detailed comments on each site in Wellesbourne East and Rural in an attached document.

Leamington has already exploded in the past five years. The roads are jammed, the services are overstretched and the vast housing developements and population explosion is changimg the character of the area and making it unpleasant. Infrastructure cannot cope with all the new 29,000 homes being concentrated in a few massive developments in the area particularly south Leamington and Whitnash which is gridlocked. These houses need to be fully dispersed across the whole of warwickshire with every town and village taking a handful of them. This woudl be a fairer, more sustainable appproach as the infratrusture wil alsways play catch-up.

To keep it brief, I am a resident of Wellesbourne for around 14 years, this new application raises serious concerns for me as it shows the destruction of our beloved airfield which has became a symbol to the village and draws people far and wide to the village, I am also worried about Wellesbourne's infrastructure as the roads are already quite bad around the village and thousands of new cars will only make this worse, as for public transport it is pretty much nonexistent in the village thus gridlocking us, I also fear for the local wildlife.

Wellesbourne is already getting full. Traffic is becoming heavy, services are struggling to cope. The doctors and dentists are at a point where it is becoming increasingly difficult to get an appointment. The school is full and there is no capacity to add houses to the village without drastically improving infrastructure.

Wellesbourne is already massively over developed with insufficient infrastructure to support the existing population - local schools, doctors and other medical services, dentists, water/drainage/sewage. The village (already the size of a small town) cannot support more housing, particularly large soulless housing estates of expensive properties that do not meet the needs of the local population.

I support a part of the development proposed at this location.
As a whole developing this location would make wellesbourne into a very oddly shaped settlement with people living at the north end unable to easily travel to the village center.
The western side of this location encroaches very closely on charlecote and would damage the village setting.
I do support the development of the section immediately to the north of wellesbourne between the A429 and Newbold road, extending North to a line East to West half way between little hill farm and middle hill farm.

2. Valuable good quality agricultural land will be destroyed when local food security needs to be prioritised as a matter of national policy.
