Access South onto the M40 & Exit North at Junction 16 is absolutely essential if housing & employment is to be developed North of Henley. The High St in Henley in Arden cannot be widened as it is surrounded by Listed buildings and cannot accept a large increase in Traffic. All Southern traffic has to negotiate the Warwick Rd Junction.
The Jacobs report states "A more regular service to Stratford-upon-Avon via Solihull, which will
increase the number of services travelling south through Henley-in-Arden and
other settlements located in western South Warwickshire; This line does not pass through Henley in Arden.

Poor transport links via public transport and limited access to Motorway system will increase car usage for new residents to access work. This will not meet stated environmental vision of SWLP. The support documents do not represent actual transport infrastructure.
Flooding is increasing and development will make it worse.
No account has been made of Educational and medical service infrastructure needs with an almost certain decline in quality of service.
Community cohesion will decline as a separate centre will be required by the development.
The plan is undeliverable due to site issues as identified by the AECOM site report 2025

The high st is already at breaking point with traffic, the character of charm of the town will be irreparably damaged. The town has had plenty if infill developments in the past 15 years and has the potential for a few more areas within the current boundaries which would be sensible. The area being proposed is considerable and consists of great habitats for wildlife. We all know there are grey & brownfield sites available rather than concreting over fields!!!!

I am very concerned about the increasing flood risk that a significant new development might bring. Henley in Arden already has significant flood risk and I understand new developments will only make this matter worse.
Secondly the traffic issue will result in a new bypass road requirement adding to the further destruction of our beautiful and historical market town.

Green belt, poor site location and poor transport links. Should protect Historic Towns. Henley been poorly developed with in-town infilling and has poor parking facilities and limited access roads in and out.
I am not against developing Henley, but we should be seeking to build small developments in the numerous hamlets around Henley and preserve its beauty and heritage, e.g. Buckley Green, the former Garden Centre (north of Henley and brownfield site!!!) plus additions in Claverdon, Ullenhall and Wootton Wawen . Business Hubs should be located near to accessible motorways (Blythe Valley example) and not Henley.

The infrastructure in Henley in Arden can hardly cope with todays residents. The medical centre is stretched to capacity as are the two primary schools and the High school.
The High Street, the only through road through Henley, is already congested due to heavy traffic and car parking for the shops is at a premium.
The main car park for people working in Henley is situated at the golf course, the site of the proposed development.

Henley-in-Arden is a unique, historic town which many people enjoy visiting. It has already had new housing added in the last few years where the old market was. The proposal for 2,500 new homes would more than double the existing population of Henley-in-Arden. Traffic already builds up on the A3400 and such a large increase in population would cause massive road traffic issues.
The golf course area is green belt, an area that people enjoy walking on. This new proposal is not at all proportionate to the existing size of our current town.

SG23 is not a brownfield site and is located within the Green Belt. The former golf course was closed at the on-set of COVID but golf participation has since grown nationally. The active Golf Course was a home to a variety of wildlife including deer, amphibians and reptiles. The location, shape and extent of the SG23 would in effect be new town and not an extension of Henley in Arden and unnecessarily create over 100 times the amount of housing identified Neighbourhood Plan for the profit of landowner and not for the benefit of the community.

Generally supportive. Concerns on existing infrastructure, particularly 4-way light crossing in Henley likely to cause significant traffic increases, especially around school times. Impact on school, doctor's, policing are critical. Dentist also withdrawing NHS patients. Developer needs to be properly funding the pressures on infrastructure the houses will create rather than the local community through council tax.
