The proposed SG18/Clopton Quarter development threatens Stratford-upon-Avon’s Green Belt, countryside, and heritage. This land plays a key role in preventing urban sprawl, maintaining settlement separation, and preserving the area’s historic character. Developing this site would lead to irreversible environmental damage, disrupt numerous wildlife habitats, and worsen existing flood risks. Increased traffic would further congest already strained roads. With alternative sites available, there is no justification for sacrificing this protected land. This proposal contradicts national planning principles and would significantly harm Stratford’s natural and cultural identity.
