SG19 defeats the objectives of New Settlements. Transport infrastructure in SE Stratford is poor, and would result in more people needing to drive through the centre of Stratford, over Clopton Bridge, which is already highly congested. If a new relief road were to be built between Alveston and Tiddington it would be highly intrusive and detrimental to the natural environment as well as being prohibitively expensive. The plans threaten the independence of Alveston and Tiddington (conservation areas) which would be subsumed into a greater Stratford.
