Development here would be a further erosion of Stratford's identity as an attractive rural town. Unattractive commercial development in the approaches to the town along the A3400 has already undermined any sense of its historicity for which it is famous. Furthermore, expansion of housing provision would only contribute to the already severe problem of congestion, paticularly in regard to the river crossing.
