I firmly believe that the development of the new homes would be an incredibly sad thing to happen, spoiling a beautiful area. It is clear that many more houses are needed in this country to ensure everyone has somewhere to call home, yet the solution is not 1000’s of soulless, unaffordable new builds serving only to line the pockets of developers and landlords alike whilst harming the landscape, the pre-existing communities and the wildlife. Not only does this go against the government’s commitment to preserving Green Belt land, but more importantly, against our collective responsibility to others and the planet.
