The scale of development is not only disproportionate but also fundamentally incompatible with the character, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability of the area. One concern is the irreversible loss of Wellesbourne’s rural identity. The proposed construction would alter the landscape, erasing open countryside and scenic beauty that define the village. The risk of increased flooding is another issue. The area already experiences vulnerabilities in surface water management, and further development would exacerbate the problem by reducing natural drainage capacity. There is no clear provision for the expansion of essential public services. Local schools and healthcare facilities are already operating at capacity.
