Part of SG18 MAY be suitable for development, but the A46 northern bypass should remain as the northern edge of the built up area of Stratford and all parts of the existing greeen belt should be protected from development except where there are existing brown field sites. SG18 includes the former Burton Farm landfill site which is not suitable for residential development owing to the risk of ground water pollution from leachate The Environment Agency considers the low lying area to the south of SG18 (closest to the A46) to have HIGH CHANCE of flooding between 2040 and 2060.
