There are plenty of Brownfield, and non-Greenbelt greenfield sites available. However, developers seem to always favour disturbing protected Green Belt sites because of possible cost implications, and what could be lengthy legal disputes, in order to satisfy development criteria on Brownfield sites. This needs to be addressed as a priority, as the target numbers required by Warwick District Council housing for new developments would be easier to fulfil, and negate the need for destroying Green Belt land.
