The principle of supporting Self and Custom Build housing is supported. For small sites or unallocated sites, the identification of local need should include need identified by the Self and Custom Build Register, rather than requiring a need identified by or supported by the local community. Alternatively the definition of district-wide need should specifically include need demonstrated for that area on the Self and Custom Build register.
