Building on SG04 would detract from the visitor experience to the English Heritage, Grade 1 listed Kenilworth Castle, and its Market Town. The castle site and its surroundings should be preserved for future generations to enjoy and imagine the rich history that has happened here. SG04 is on green belt land and this proposed construction is not an exceptional event requiring the removal of its designation. The green belt is there to protect the special character of the town and its Castle and to prevents urban sprawl linking Kenilworth with neighbouring cities and towns. Other brown field sites are available.
