The proposal for a new settlement at Hatton (B1) is inappropriate because the infrastructure is inadequate and it is in the Green Belt. Addressing the infrastructure issues will be fraught with delivery problems and will be very expensive if, indeed, funding was forthcoming. The availability of alternative sites not in the Green Belt and which have better infrastructure, such as X2, means that there is no need for a new settlement at Hatton. Those parts of B1 near to Hatton Park (sites 166 and 692) would be more appropriate for development than those parts near Hatton Station (site ref 153).
