I support new housing but the development at Shipston on Fell Mill Lane (Refs 148, 747) in our view is unsustainable for the following reasons:

1) Local job opportunities are reducing
2) Attractive Market Square, popular with tourists
3) Conservation zone would suffer from significant congestion
4) Long distances to large towns for employment
5) Flooding wise - 42% of site in flood zones 3 & 2
6) Development on Fell Mill site will increase surface water run-off
7) The current sewerage systems already over-capacity.
8) Shipston has no train station, and infrequent bus services
9) Part of site within an “Area of Restraint”
10) Significant issues with roads in Willington, Honington not designed for high traffic
11) Bridge into Shipston is currently single track
