There are other areas that could be built on without using beautiful green belt land. This area is composed of quality agricultural land and provides habitats for a wide variety of animal and bird life including sparrow hawks, buzzards, fieldfares, owls, woodpeckers, bats (to name a few), with extensive hedgerows and old oak trees. It has many public footpaths and is well used and loved by local residents for exercise and leisure and the area would be greatly diminished if it were to be built over for housing. The area continues to fulfil the stated purposes of Green Belt land.
