The tranquil qualities are now threatened by a proposed development of 8,000 homes. This figure is excessive compared to the previously suggested 4,500 and would destroy open spaces, disrupt local character, and harm fragile ecology. Current infrastructure is inadequate, with roads already strained from nearby developments. The local train station cannot support such a population increase. I urge the council to reject this proposal and consider smaller-scale housing that preserves our community's unique identity and environment.
