In the past 10 years previous local development plans have suggested the objectives for Wellesbourne, Lighthorne and Gaydon have been met. It has also previously been said that the floodplain around Wellesbourne Airfield and Charlecote should be protected.

The current proposals suggest any green space within Wellesbourne could be built over. This is unfair and undemocratic, especially considering the strain on local infrastructure like roads and healthcare. The potential construction traffic could worsen existing issues, particularly during market days. Local government must actively engage residents, providing detailed plans and meetings for community input to avoid perceptions of disregarding public opinion.
