I oppose the SG24 development plan at Hockley Heath for several reasons. The area is Green Belt and should remain so, as there’s no exceptional justification for building there. Traffic congestion on local roads is severe, and the area struggles with surface water drainage issues. The existing infrastructure cannot support additional educational and health needs. Hockley Heath is a village that should retain its character, and the development would harm the environment by destroying green spaces and wildlife habitats. Furthermore, the Solihull local plan indicates that only small-scale development is appropriate for this area.
