I am writing to express my family's deep concern regarding the proposed increase of Hockley Heath from approximately 700 to around 5000 homes. This expansion would destroy the village's character and overwhelm local infrastructure, resulting in a busier and noisier environment. While I recognise the need for more housing, I urge a more thoughtful approach that complements the existing village layout with fewer homes and support for nature and the community. I suggest distributing housing demands across various towns to avoid overwhelming any single area. A revised, smaller plan prioritising the environment is essential.
