I believe affordable housing is necessary for first-time buyers, but I am deeply concerned about the plan to increase housing from 700 to 5000 homes. This could lead to severe drainage issues on Stratford Road and Aylesbury Road, risking flooding in our area due to heavy clay soils. The proposed development is on Green Belt land, which should be preserved for wildlife, and excessive building would threaten local species. Our essential services would be overwhelmed, the village's character would be lost, and traffic would significantly increase, causing daily stress for residents.
