Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

We are devastated to hear of proposals to introduce a new dwelling on the edge of Lapworth that could see the population increase to 6 times its current level.

Lapworth is a huge asset to the wider area, a destination that attracts footfall to its canals, pubs and walks purely on the basis of its beauty and tranquility. This proposed build surrounding Lapworth, along with other proposed expansions around Hockley Heath and infill sites in the area will ruin this location and its surrounding areas - driving out the very people who volunteer and care for the parish and community currently. From litter-picking to community shows and fayres, these will all disappear with the very 'village' people that you will drive out from this expansion. Ourselves included.

It is already a challenge to get our children into the available nearby nurseries, Lapworth preschool and school - forcing hard working parents to have to consider private options we can't afford. The GP surgery is a huge asset to the village although it is already flagged as red for being on the verge of being unable to cope with the current parish population's needs.

I do realise that it is non negotiable for Warwick District Council to build their share of 300,000 new houses a year - however you do not have to choose your 'star' of the show locations such as Lapworth with its natural beauty, green belt farmland, equestrian facilities, proud village life and community to do this. You will destroy the very essence of what makes Warwickshire the very county it is.

We are currently selling our house and relocating in large part due to this potential impact, however we feel very strongly that Lapworth should not be ruined even after we are gone. We want to continue to live the village life, and fear that Lapworth is no longer that and might as well be an extension of Shirley and other nearby but less peaceful countryside locations in the future. You have already negatively impacted our ability to sell a house with these current proposals being made, to which we are highly upset and feel unfairly chastised for previously loving and caring for Lapworth. You may be interested to know that reasons cited or not wanting to purchase in Lapworth (as it currently is) include these proposed plans, 'too many houses already', the lack of reasonable train times, an over prescribed school and no bus services. All of these will become 6x more under pressure/lacking if the proposals are approved rendering Lapworth an undesirable location for all.

From two late 30s parents with children - we beg you to reconsider the impact these plans will have to our lives, the beauty of Lapworth and the future generations who deserve to be able to grow up in a beautiful village of Lapworth as it is. Please consider the people that have loved and cared for this currently beautiful Lapworth parish - a rare gem and asset to the county Warwickshire.
