Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Hockley Heath is in Solihull, but Warwick are investigating the possibility of building houses on various green belt sites right up to the village boundary! Solihull MBC's local plan only calls for small scale development. There would undoubtably be disputes over the funding of services for the area.

I'm not opposed to appropriate development, & support the government's policy in principle of increased housing. However for the suggested development to go ahead without any providing extra infrastructure, is totally unacceptable. In particular, Hockley Heath has no GP, & no secondary school. The local primary school is already struggling with extra demand within the borough. This lack of school places will be exacerbated by the government imposition of VAT on public schools. We have a few retail shops, which are totally insufficient in providing the anticipated demand.

It is the government's intention to build on brown & grey belt first. Have any such sites been identified in Hockley Heath? The sites suggested are on green belt, which will have major environmental consequences. Wild life will be adversely affected. Some areas are already affected by flooding, which will require significant cost to control. Extra traffic will increase pollution, congerstion & road accidents, particularly on the A3400. Residents health & wellbing would also be adversly affected.

In conclusion, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Hockley Heath Parish Council & local residents all oppose this proposal.
