Lapworth is a huge asset to the wider area, a destination that attracts footfall to its canals, pubs and walks purely on the basis of its beauty and tranquility. This proposed build surrounding Lapworth, along with other proposed expansions around Hockley Heath and infill sites in the area will ruin this location and its surrounding areas - driving out the very people who volunteer and care for the parish and community currently. From litter-picking to community shows and fayres, these will all disappear with the very 'village' people that you will drive out from this expansion. Ourselves included.
It is already a challenge to get our children into the available nearby nurseries, Lapworth preschool and school - forcing hard working parents to have to consider private options we can't afford. The GP surgery is a huge asset to the village although it is already flagged as red for being on the verge of being unable to cope with the current parish population's needs.
I do realise that it is non negotiable for Warwick District Council to build their share of 300,000 new houses a year - however you do not have to choose your 'star' of the show locations such as Lapworth with its natural beauty, green belt farmland, equestrian facilities, proud village life and community to do this. You will destroy the very essence of what makes Warwickshire the very county it is.
