Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

As someone who works in Lapworth, I am extremely concerned about the proposed development of over 7,000 new homes in the area. I strongly oppose this plan due to the lack of adequate transport infrastructure, the strain on public services, and the overall negative impact it will have on both workers and residents.

Transport and Traffic Disruption

The transport links serving Lapworth are already insufficient. The roads are narrow, often congested, and unsuitable for the massive increase in traffic that this development will bring. The Council’s own assessment marks local and strategic highway capacity as a major issue, highlighting the severe risks associated with such large-scale development. Without major investment in transport solutions—something this plan does not guarantee—commuting will become even more difficult and unsafe.

Overloaded Public Services

Lapworth and its surrounding areas lack the medical facilities, schools, and retail provisions to support thousands of new residents. GP surgeries already have long waiting times, and local schools are nearing capacity. The proposed development risks stretching these services beyond breaking point, leaving both new and existing residents without the support they need.

Loss of Community Character

Lapworth has a unique identity—a balance of rural peace and community life. Rapid overdevelopment will destroy this, turning it into an overpopulated extension of larger urban areas rather than the thriving village it should remain.

This proposal does not serve the best interests of Lapworth’s workers or residents, and I urge the Council to reject it.
