Re: Proposed future housing development plans - South Warwickshire
I am alarmed at the proposed future housing development plans and object to them. My objections are based on the following points:
1. all of the proposed sites are in the green belt which is not only inappropriate to build on, it also leads to loss of habitat for wildlife which is already massively impacted by the HS2 works and housing developments that have been completed in our area in the past couple of year
2. the sites will also have detrimental impact on local amenities which are already stretched (for example schools, GP surgeries, shops and other community assets)
3. our roads are already congested, so more housing in the area will lead to considerably more pollution from increased traffic. We have limited car parking spaces, which will only get more challenging. increased traffic will have a detrimental effect on pedestrians and cyclists.
4. our infrastructure is under considerable pressure already (Severn Trent for example have said that their infrastructure is under extreme pressure and building more houses will only make this worse).
5. our public services, such as drainage, water supply and increasingly, electricity capacity are inadaquate. Building on arable land between Cubbington and Lillington which is on a slope will lead to more flooding in Cubbington - this is already an issue for Cubbington which will get worse if the fields are built on.
6. more development will have a negative visual impact on the area. Our green spaces are diminishing rapidly leading to loss of recreational spaces and impacting negatively on our mental health. Warwickshire is a beautiful place to live, let’s keep that way.
