Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Shipston has already been overwhelmed with new housing to the detriment of the town. The proposal to inflict huge tranches of additional housing on the town is appalling and very poorly thought through.

Shipston is a flood town, much has been done, mainly by volunteers, to help alleviate this through the work of SAFAG but these proposals take no account of flood plains or the huge impact housing has in terms of surface water that never completely mitigated by SUDS ponds.

There is already copious evidence that the sewage system is unable to cope with the additional connections and the fact that it is apparently deemed acceptable for overflows to occur in play areas, etc. is further evidence of the lack of consideration of need for upgraded services in advance of any additional building.

As retail and commercial buildings become redundant due to change in lifestyles these are the areas that should be targeted and repurposed for housing and not the ‘easy’ hits of building on valued green spaces.
