I do not agree with this strategic growth location for the following reasons:
1. Tiddington is close to Stratford Town which in the 24 Housing Survey of new houses built per 10,000 population was top of the list. In 2024 considerably more new builds were built. This has put strain on the infrastructure and it is very difficult to drive from Tiddington to Stratford, more houses built in SG19 will make the congestion worse, with increased strain on schools, GP clinics etc. Clopton Bridge would not be able to cope with the increased traffic.
2. Building new houses in Tiddington could exacerbate flooding due to the proximity of the River Avon. I have lived in Tiddington for the past 35 years and the River Avon at the bottom of my garden floods throughout the year.
3. Any future development needs to be south of Stratford as the poor infrastructure already makes it difficult to meet appointments and urgent meetings in the town.
4. Land highlighted as part of SG19 between the new development in Loxley Rd / Knights Lane and Townsend Road has been designated in the Neighbourhood Development Plan as being the Strategic Gap between Tiddington and Stratford.
