1. The proposed site is situated within the Green Belt which is already under significant threat of overdevelopment.
2. The area is currently productive farming land, the loss of which will impact our food security.
3. Hatton station is central to the proposed development and it now appears that it is not easily possible to expand it to cope with the increased volume of commuter traffic.
4. Plans to encourage walking and cycling are well intentioned but in practical terms most journeys are likely to require the uses of a car. Traffic will significantly increase and existing roads will be unable to handle this.
5. The Arden landscape should be protected.
6. Better sites are available elsewhere.
