1) We are surprised and disappointed not to have been advised by the District Council of these submissions that directly affect us as we live nearby.
2) The development will cause further traffic and pedestrian problems on an already busy, fast road (that lacks for one long stretch footpaths) - both at the Knowle Hill and Birches Lane ends.
3) They will impose further strain on the local infrastructure - schools, GPs, police, fire, ambulance, dentists etc.
4) Kenilworth is a small town and its residents have chosen it for that reason. Further development at Thickthorn is already very unwelcome for that reason, and this simply adds to the problem.
5) The narrow gap of land here acts as a green lung for the residents on the Eastern side of Kenilworth.
6) The Cricket Club has perfectly good facilities already, and has already profited from previously selling ground for residential use. Removing Woodside as a conference centre takes away a business and jobs from the town - I thought this was an important issue? They too seem to be keen on profiting rather than considering the impact on the residents.
7) The residents have moved here to benefit from the green space. The future of Coventry airport and the proposed high speed rail line are already casting a pall over the area without the additional strain of more housing.
8) Where is it proposed the cricket club moves to? This is a facility that has benefited all ages on this side of town, who appreciate being able to walk to watch or participate in sport. This does not seem to be likely in this part of town.
9) If this is agreed to, how will the District Council refuse further development of green field sites - effectively joining up Kenilworth and Coventry? Where will it stop?
10) The bend on the road at Woodside is extremely dangerous - further traffic will only exacerbate this problem.
