It would be better to regenerate the town centre than expand the number of houses by building on sites north of Leamington.
There are no favourable figues for economic growth in the next 10 years which could justify the growth suggested.
The expense required to expand the infrastructure to support development is also a cause fro concern.
I wish to record my objections to development on green belt land in north Leamington
New development around a town may appear healthy, however adding
another layer around a declining centre is not appropriate: regeneration of the
town centre, both the retail and living accommodation often within the same properties,
would be a better first step.
Future housing needs have been based on the 'growth ' over the last ten years continuing into the future. Recession hit in late 2008, after nearly four years of little or no growth there are no favourable economic forecasts to base optimism for growth over the next ten years.
Look to Ireland were they are now demolishing new housing developments, though I appreciate they are part of the Euro problems, belief in projected growth was and is naive.
I am bitterly disappointed and feel let down by my District Council: had I
realised such intents I would not have voted for these incumbants. They
are not acting in the best interests of the local electorate in removing a
natural amenity which costs the Council little or no money to maintain to
build houses not proven to be needed and further to spend £28 million
on a road required only to serve urban sprawl.
