Protect the historic environment - The nature of the village [Norton Lindsey] would be completely changed with an increase in the number of houses by 50% or more.

Design for safe communities and good access to services -Norton Lindsey already struggles with poor roads, no pavements, few footpaths and no cycle paths. There are no shops or medical facilities and poor public transport links (4 buses a week).

Design to reduce carbon emissions - No public transport so each house has at least one car. More housing would increase numbers of cars (road infrastructure could not support this) and carbon emissions. Roads would be even less safe.
