Object on the grounds of impact on the rural environment (open valley, woodlands, ecology); potential for this to lead to a sprawling settlement; insufficient capacity in local services (schools, doctors etc); increased traffic; impact on the local economy and likelihood that local businesses would have to close and impact on archeaology
I wish to object to the use of this site, for the following reasons:
Rural Environment.
The natural open vista of this valley is outstanding in its current format. To approve this site,in the short term, would lead in the long term to a huge sprawling settlement thus totally destrying the natyral environment, including the wild life and protected woodlands.
Local Amenities
There is not enough spare capacity at the local school and doctors' surgery to cope with this additional influx. No doubt extra bus services would have to be provided as well
Travel
Increased road traffic, particularly HGVs,have been noticeable in recent times. This development would make matters worse and lead to new road layouts to cope.
Local Economy
This site would have a negative effect on the local economy. Existing business would have to close and significant job losses would follow.Knock on effect of this would be a serious loss of financial contributions to the local economy.
Local Archaeology Register
Items of ancient pottery have been found on this site in recent times. Also at one time the land was the site an Historic Toll road
I trust this Objection will be printed off and added to others you may receive in respect to the GT02 site.
In response to your requests for general comments on other sites, may I suggest the ideal site should be sized to suit the numbers of pitches you plan to provide. This in turn should have ,where possible, natural or existing boundaries ie hedges, tree lines and roads.
