Object to number of houses around Warwick:
New houses would increase population putting pressure on centre of Warwick.
Traffic is already heavy. Coton End traffic comes to a standstill heading into centre.
Pollution must already be bad and more cars would aggrevate the situation.
More housing needed but development should be spread widely.
Brownfield land should be used as much as possible.
Sensitive approach needed to need for education, healthcare and leisure rather than bulding just houses.
I would like to register my objection tot he Local Plan for the building of a large number of houses around Warwick.
The reasons why I object are: Building a large number of houses which significantly increases the population would put too much pressure on the centre of Warwick. The traffic thoough the town is already heavy. Living on Coton End, we often see traffic heading towards the centre at a complete standstill. The pollution from car exhausts must already be bad where traffic is queuing. Large edge-of-town developments would aggravate the situation with more cars travelling into or through the town.
Certainly there is a need for more housing but development should be spread more widely in the district. Brownfield land should be used as much as possible.
In my view, developing th town to meet the need for housing requires a more sensitive approach to people's need for education, healthcare, leisure etc. rather than just building a large development of houses in one area.
