After careful consideration of the proposed Approved Sites for the location of a Gypsy and Traveller Site in the Bishops Tachbrook/Warwick area, it is obvious to me that the most appropriate site is Brookside Willows on the Banbury Road.

I understand the site has current Planning Permission for a Touring Caravan Site and it is ideally suited for access to all amenities in Warwick Town. The site is well screened by woodland, giving the Travellers suitable privacy, and certain infrastructure, such as sewerage and water supply, is already nearby.
The vehicular access is wide, has excellent visibility and sufficient space for the movement of towed caravans.

I am aware that Travellers prefer a nomadic lifestyle, but it is also important that they feel part of a community and it is obviously our responsibility to provide the facilities they need. Out of all the Preferred Sites in this area, Brookside Willows is the best placed location for them to make a home.

I therefore recommend that you provide a suitable Traveller Site at Brookside Willows as part of your Local Plan.
