Site has previously accepted material which is likely to be contaminated, according to Environment Agency (EA) landfill database.
EA information confirms site has received both industrial and commercial waste in the past.
Also received Special Waste, which is defined as "waste that has hazardous properties and defined in Special Waste Regulations 1996. Such properties may be flammable, irritant, toxic, harmful, carcinogenic or corrosive".
This was confirmed by WDC in e-mail of 25/6/13 which stated "this was former landfill site and is therefore contaminated...site not suitable as gypsy and traveller site" and "site not included in our options and unlikely our position will change". Don't understand why Council have now changed their position.
Banbury Road one of the most importantroutes into Warwick, provides historic views. Concerns over tourism if site used.
