Please accept this email as a record of my formal objection to the H48 & H47 components of the Barford New Local Plan.
My objections are based on the following comments / observations:
The Warwick District Council Local Plan of 2013 allocated a maximum of 90 houses to Barford. The Barford Neighbourhood Plan, which was produced following Government recommendations that Local Communities should have more say in Local Affairs has been totally ignored. This is despite an immense amount of effort by the Barford community to support the need for new housing. The maximum number of 90 has already been exceeded with 109 houses been built / planned. We understand that the Barford Neighbourhood Plan has been side lined and the Local 2013 Plan has been rejected by Government because it did not meet the housing needs of Coventry. Whilst we are naturally sympathetic to the housing needs of the people of Coventry, surely building houses nearly 20 miles away in a sleepy Warwickshire village with nothing like the infrastructure they are used to will only bring unhappiness to the those people of Coventry and major disruption to Barford, which is already struggling to accommodate the substantial increase in population.
The current planning proposals are simply not taking into account the needs of the village, the demand on its infrastructure e.g., sewerage nor of the impact of increasing numbers of commuting traffic.
Your plans are too much too soon and will destroy the community of Barford.
