Shipston-on-Stour has already seen lots of development over recent years. The local infrastructure just cannot take any more. The schools are full to bursting, you can't move in the town centre for traffic and parked cars, the doctors surgery is at capacity. The plans also involve building on a flood plain and / or expanding the town into open countryside. The site off Shoulderway Lane would dramatically 'urbanise' a rural location. Access currently is down a narrow country lane, next to the cemetery and historic cemetery chapel. Widening the road would impact the cemetery site.
