Local communities should be invited to advise on what amenities are lacking in their area using their local knowledge. Preferably this should be done before land is released for development so that new and improved amenities can be planned from the beginning and not as an afterthought to development. In considering what is needed, consideration should be given to helping Parish Councils expand/introduce the services that they are responsible for.
