Thousands of people each year walk up or down Northumberland Road, turn left into Bamburgh Road and walk across the fields. They either turn left into Guy's Cliffe Avenue or carry on walking towards the Saxon Mill. If this area were to be developed, the walk from Northumberland Road would disappear. This is surely not sensible at a time when we are all being encouraged to walk and when there are alternative areas where housing could be developed? How would the traffic be dispersed? It would have to go into Rugby Road or Kenilworth Road which is already too busy.
