Green belt is necessary to prevent urban areas merging. The green belt should only be given up on an as needed basis. A 25 year local plan is too long to accurately predict needs and what land will become available in that period.

This land includes footpaths providing important access to rural environments for recreation.

If we have reached the point where we have no option but to build on green belt, then we should stop low density housing development in the area and encourage the development of, for example, town houses, a housing style for which Leamington is famous.
